Love it! Interestingly, when I was in Japan last week, I visited a friend who works in a business that installs solar panels on houses. They had some things designed to look like traditional tiles and other tiles that were somehow "eco" my Japanese didn't get me much beyond that, but I thought it was very cool.
ReplyDeleteThe love of pattern is timeless and restful to the brain, whichever side you're working with!
ReplyDeleteMy critique of Japanese architecture is that they are minimalistic in such a way that monotonous patterns create a very aesthetic work of art. And behold, most of their castles with these roofing style have stood the test of time!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, those roof designs gave me goosebumps! It’s mind-boggling how organized and united the pieces were to form a single unit to prevent leaks and other roofing problems. The fact that these are large-scale roofs makes everything more challenging!
